I grew up in southern California and was heavily involved with music. At UCLA I played French horn in a wind ensemble and keyboard in a rock band, The Sliverbritches…maybe you’ve heard of us? Probably not. I studied mechanical engineering and squeaked out in 5 years. I went on to work for Fluor Daniel, an international engineering company based in Orange County, CA. Then I worked for Qwest Communications in Denver, CO, where I fell in love with the mountains. I then left the engineering field to attend UC Berkeley and get an MBA. I got to travel to Costa Rica to introduce technology to organic coffee farmers in hopes of helping them better manage their plantations. I also was on the winning team for the $10,000 Elite Eight Marketing Challenge for which we researched teenagers’ opinions on “Go-Gurt” portable yogurt and presented recommendations to its makers. From Berkeley, I headed south again to get married (my wife’s name is also Tara) and take a job with Intrawest in Mammoth Lakes, CA. Shortly thereafter I got my real estate license and have been practicing real estate full-time ever since. I feel like I found my calling. I love the contact with a broad range of people and helping them find the perfect place to enjoy the mountains. On the side, I am involved with Young Life (nondenominational outreach ministry for teenagers), Mammoth Christian Fellowship, and playing music in the Eastern Sierra Chamber Orchestra and in the Sierra Summer Festival. My wife and I enjoy being parents and, when we have time, enjoy skiing, snowboarding, hiking, running, and volleyball. We have three daughters who help us look at life through kids’ eyes again.

I was born and raised in Orange County. Some of my best childhood memories were visiting my grandparents in the Eastern Sierras (in Walker 70 miles north of Mammoth). I am blessed by the love and support of my wife and four children. Our three oldest children are independent and making headway into their adult lives. Our youngest son attends Mammoth High School. After a lifetime living in Southern California, my wife, youngest son, and I came to Mammoth for a weekend getaway to escape the 100+ degree temperatures. This trip opened the doors to our relocation to Mammoth 3 months later. After 7 years, we still pinch ourselves about how wonderful it is to live and work in this majestic location. My entire working career has been about serving others. I have been a fire fighter and engaged in some aspect of customer service for over 30 years. I worked in the grocery business, Nordstrom, fire departments, and ran my own business as an RV component sales representative. I know how to provide top-level customer service and I am able to provide that to people wanting to find their mountain home. As my wife and I say there is never a bad day in Mammoth just look up to the mountains. We are avid downhill and Nordic skiers in the winter and enjoy RV camping, backpacking, hiking and road biking in the summers. We are active members of Mammoth Christian Fellowship. I have a fresh outlook on living and playing in the Eastern Sierras and can help you find your ideal primary or vacation home.
